5:30 but there are now more free pipes as tour gifts and as ranking rewards to get the supers, and even quite a few gold pipes if you have gold pass or if you purchase premium challenges. I got white birdo and a new kart this tour from the gold pipes.

Something to perhaps consider: Now that you can buy only the ranked spotlights that you NEED, maybe you no longer need to acquire every DKG on the off-chance you will need it in the future. Every tour will be covered by the Spotlight Shop option. If you want to buy every new item for the sake of buying it, then yes, it’s going to be more expensive. But if you stop buying trash DKG when you already have strong coverage, and invest your rubies instead into Coin Rush for the coins you would’ve gotten in gacha pipes, perhaps it evens out or you can even save money. For the way I play (GP+), this new system should definitely save me money.

Nice video! I kinda have a problem with the shop itself so if you see the Mii suits the new ones are 30 rubies off but the new characters are still the same???? kinda confused me

This analysis is rich in content! Thanks! A couple more points to add:
1. How is ruby price compared to before the update? My feeling is they’re giving out more rubies for the same pricing. Before, I vaguely rmb the best ratio is $1 to 2.5 rubies, but now it could go up to $1:4.

2. Are there more opportunities to obtain free rubies now with additional pipe pulls and/or gifts?

3. How would inflation be for f2p, gold pass only and low cost packages only players, who might only want to maximize their card collections (lv 1) instead of going for lv 4 or 8? Quite a number of us are sardines instead of sharks or whales. Any advice on how much ruby to spend/save up to strategically maximize coverage and level up key d/k/g?

A video that I believe a lot of us would like to see is how your thinking process is working now as to what to buy in the spotlight shop for your particular account. How are you deciding when / what to upgrade faster via rubies than you’d be able to by slowly converting rubies to coins and then buying tickets in the Tier / Daily select shops?

Or are you simply buying the new stuff and using tickets you already have for now?

Doubling the amount of real currency to get the same result doesn’t sound TOO bad unless you are so used to your previous progression in the game that you feel pressure to try and continue it.

If you are able to accept fewer investments (likely more strategic unlike the blanket bundle-buying approach) then there’s a decent chance you may not miss the extra progression you would have previously achieved (by leveling up equipment you end up not using).

With your driving skills and strategic approach (assisted by experience, spreadsheets, algorithms, and friends), something tells me you’re still going to keep being able to win your ranked cups for a long while even if you _completely stopped_ your currency spending in the game.

With the spotlight shop you can control your destiny a much more and buy each tour’s new equipment (if you must keep that up) for 350~600 rubies depending on how many new things get released. My memory tells me the prior pipes would be a mix. So the big miss is coins (which we seem to be getting much more in the challenges page) and leveling up stuff you already had.
